Title: Always the best sound
Author: Jan Hoffmann
Translated from the original German article
When using mobile phones or when being on the move you also want to enjoy a real good sound. This is exactly what the new Byron series from beyerdynamic provides.
At present this series includes three models. The Byron is a wired in-ear headphone, which is available at a very reasonable price of 50 Euro with a remote control optimised for Android devices. In contrast to this the Byron BT and BTA models operate with Bluetooth – thus they are wirelessly connected with the appropriate device – and provide an extremely high comfort of wearing as well as an excellent sound, whereas the BTA also supports the AAC codec and is also the top of the series.
All three models give a very noble and subtle impression when they are first unpacked. After all, looks play a part as well, apart from that the good durability is not unimportant. All three models come with a smart case for storage and three pairs of eartips – the latter is important so that the listener can optimally adapt the earphone to one’s ears making the in-ear headphones optimally unfolding their sound.
The Byron BTA basically offers the same features as the BT, so why I should spend 100 Euro more. Well, so often, the big brother simply offers a little bit more of everything, starting with the appearance and the remote control. Everything is simply more solid and of a higher quality. But this is more a question of taste than quality. The fact that you charge the BTA with a charging station instead of simply plugging a cable is nice, but well: luxury. But with the sound quality, the Byron BTA shows a stronger performance.
The Byron BT sounds really good, but the BTA indeed supplies a richer bass sounding more fine and elegant. This is in fact a real great sound which makes you want to listen to more music with these headphones. You literally dive into a world of sounds as they do not penetrate to the outside and the sounds supplied are pleasant, airy, clean and full. In addition to this, the comfort of wearing is really great and makes you almost forget that you are wearing a headphone.
Selecting the beyerdynamic Byron BTA is inevitable, if you also want to play audio in the AAC codec - because that is not the Byron BT. Those who want to listen not only to MP3 files, but high-quality audio material or movies, should go for this higher investment. Listening in order to compare will bring final clarity. Both Bluetooth models convinced me, but the Byron BTA clearly wins, but this is no surprise.
The new Byron series from beyerdynamic is convincing right away, and if you just want to replace the supplied headphones of your smartphone and look for good sound, comfort and solid manufacturing, the Byron Wired is the right choice for you. You receive a real good sound at a very reasonable price. Those who prefer the comfort of a wireless headphone or who have a device without headphone socket can choose between the two Byron BT and BTA models which feature a great design and manufacture and which can be comfortably worn and sound really great. The exquisite BTA is a little but up in all categories – whether you want to pay the extra price, you should decide when comparing the sound. I am definitely delighted, the Byron BT and the wired model provide a real great sound at a fair price. It is strongly recommended to try it out.
